Answered prayer

From the moment of the accident a year ago, lying on the pavement in Talcahuano, Chile, I whispered, "I trust you, God." He has been faithful of my trust. Your prayers for me have been a key component, prayers for the Holy Spirit's comfort and guidance. Every step, every decision, every opportunity over these months has been God ordained, I stand in awe. Most recently I returned to Chile and ministered in churches, two of which were ones Rick and I planted, visiting many friends and multiple pastoral families. A highlight was participating in the Southern Cone missionary retreat in Argentina with so many friends as well as Rick's brother, Dave, and wife, Carol, who are the AGWM Regional Directors for LAC, the first day of the retreat being the one year anniversary of Rick's home going.

my next assignment

I am excited to share that God is leading me back to the country of Ecuador where Rick and I served from 1988 to 1993, this time to the city of Cuenca, population 700,000, located at 8500 feet elevation in the Andes mountains. In June of last year I joined OMN's paradigm trip to Ecuador spending a day in Cuenca. Since then, after much prayer and consultation with leadership, I have felt God's persistent "nudge" to this city and various ministries there, including working with a television network reaching the city and beyond. There are many needs such as training future pastors, church planting, and Ecuadorean missions education. I am confident that just as God has led me step by step this past year, He will make my path clear in these coming months as to my specific roles. I will be with a missionary team and know it will be a good fit and helpful in this transition to solitary missionary life.

While I prepare for my move to Cuenca this summer, I am living in my home in Canby, Oregon, traveling in and out of the country on three different ministry trips to Costa Rica, Ecuador and Cuba the entire month of March and last two weeks of May.
