removing fourteen years of grime

On July 5th, the day after signing the final papers, CBC’s men set to work cleaning, painting, removing metal shelving, replacing broken windows, and reconnecting plumbing and lighting. A dumpster hauled away 4.5 tons of garbage. The power washer bought on craigslist in Portland has been a life saver!

The name of the property’s previous business was Renacimiento which means rebirth or revival in English. We believe God saved these premises for fourteen years to be reborn as a center of worship to Him where many will find spiritual rebirth and revival.

July 13 - FiRST CONTACT

After nine days of intense cleaning and preparations, the entire congregation had the privilege to visit the new property for the first time and see with their own eyes the tremendous vision God has for CBC. The most repeated comment was, “Wow, with this space, we can ...music classes, children’s ministry, after school program, Bible Institute” and the list goes on. Each one imagining what God is going to do in this place!

Independence Day Celebration

This past weekend, CBC celebrated their first event at the property with a party. Over 200 people came, about 50 of them first time visitors. The children were beside themselves with joy to finally have space to play games. Pray with us that the needed repairs and renovations, as well as permits will come together quickly so we can move over to the new facility before year end.

Faith Promise TESTIMONIES

CBC church has been challenged to individually or as a family make a Faith Promise towards the purchase of the property. There are three balloon payments due on November 4th of this year, as well as March 4th and July 4th of next year. The two couples pictured here have seen God’s hand in their finances as they are stepping out in faith. On the left, Patricio and Susanna, as newlyweds and recent college grads, made a commitment of $5,200US for the first payment. At that time neither had jobs, but God has supplied jobs for both and they shared their story last Saturday, saying that they frugally live on a quarter of their income and are giving the rest to the Lord.

The couple on the right, Omar and Karin, are both architects and in addition to their large Faith Promise, are also helping in a huge way with the needed paperwork to proceed with renovations and receiving the necessary approvals from the city. Karin felt God ask her to give any work bonuses she would receive during this year of paying off the land. She obeyed and has been amazed that so far this year her bonuses have been four to five times larger than ever before!

TOGETHER...

The fund raising chart below shows how much has been given to date for the first of three balloon payments of 60 million pesos each (approx. $102,500 US each). Through the Faith Promises of the CBC pastors and members, two successful all church Garage Sales and a fund raising party, we are at 48.25 million pesos! However, we still lack $20,000 US towards the first payment due November 4th. Can you help us make it to the top of the chart?
